Commonly known as “Extra Help,” Low Income Subsidy is a program that assists those with limited income and resources to pay for copays, coinsurance, deductibles and premiums associated with their Prescription Drug Plan.

How do I qualify?

There are different ways to qualify for “Extra Help.”

Are you already eligible for full Medicaid benefits? Do you receive help from the state to pay your Part B premiums? Are you currently receiving Social Security Income from Social Security? If this is the case, you will be automatically enrolled in the program.

Do you meet the income and resource limit requirements? Those limits can be found at medicare.gov search for extra help. The requirements change from one year to the next.
